Australia-based data centre company AirTrunk, backed by Blackstone, announced plans to invest over $30 billion in India to build more than 5 gigawatts (GW) of digital infrastructure capacity by 2030, according to a company release. This investment is among the largest in India's digital infrastructure sector.
The company detailed its strategy to expand its data centre footprint across India, aiming to meet the growing demand for cloud services and digital connectivity. AirTrunk’s founder and CEO, Robin Khuda, highlighted the scale of the project during an event in Melbourne, emphasizing the company’s commitment to supporting India’s digital transformation. The investment will be phased over the coming years to develop state-of-the-art facilities.

The expansion aligns with India’s push to enhance its digital economy and infrastructure capabilities.
