L&T Vyoma secures order to deploy AI factory with 10,000 NVIDIA GPUs

Larsen & Toubro’s newly formed subsidiary Vyoma.AI has secured an order from US-based AI cloud platform Together AI to deploy an AI factory at L&T’s Chennai data centre.

Larsen & Toubro’s newly formed subsidiary Vyoma.AI has secured an order from US-based AI cloud platform Together AI to deploy an AI factory at L&T’s Chennai data centre. The facility will house 10,000 NVIDIA B300 GPUs, with 8,000 GPUs forming one cluster under the agreement with Together AI and 2,000 GPUs in a separate cluster for other customers, the company announced this week, according to inc42.com.

This development follows L&T’s earlier transfer of its data centre and cloud services business to Vyoma for ₹1,400 crore, consolidating its AI infrastructure ambitions. Vyoma’s managing director, Prashant Chiranjive Jain, explained that the company aims to expand beyond traditional data centre operations into a full-stack digital infrastructure business that includes colocation, cloud, and AI factories. The AI factory at Chennai is a key step in this strategy to meet rising demand for compute, power, and connectivity.

The move positions Vyoma as a significant player in India’s growing AI infrastructure market, leveraging L&T’s construction expertise and existing data centre assets. The scale of the GPU deployment is notable compared to other Indian AI infrastructure initiatives, reflecting the increasing importance of AI compute capacity in the country. Vyoma’s approach integrates colocation with cloud and AI factory services, aligning with global trends where AI workloads require specialized hardware and infrastructure.

The AI factory project is set to become operational at L&T’s Chennai data centre, marking a milestone in Vyoma’s expansion. The facility’s 10,000 NVIDIA B300 GPUs will support Together AI’s cloud platform and other customers, underscoring Vyoma’s commitment to building India’s AI infrastructure capabilities.
