These Terms govern your use of the Startupniti website (startupniti.com, login.startupniti.com, and associated subdomains) and any account features we offer. By accessing the site or creating an account you agree to these Terms.
1. About Startupniti
Startupniti is a news publication owned and operated by Startupniti Media, Bengaluru, India. We publish editorial content on India's startup ecosystem, technology, funding, IPOs, and policy.
2. Editorial content
Editorial content on Startupniti is our own reporting, curation, and analysis. Every article cites its sources. If a fact you read here is wrong, please report it to /corrections. Substantive corrections are published openly.
Editorial coverage is not influenced by advertisers, sponsors, subscribers, or investors. Sponsored content, when it appears, is clearly labelled as Brand Voice.
3. Access & accounts
Reading Startupniti does not require an account. Some features (premium articles, personalisation, saved stories) require a free account.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. You may not share an account with others. We may suspend or terminate an account that is used for abuse, scraping, resale, or violation of these Terms.
4. Subscriptions
Current pricing tiers:
- Free — ₹0. Access to all editorial content until Jan 2027. From Jan 2027, access to non-premium content.
- Premium monthly — ₹199/month, launching Jan 2027. Full access to premium articles, archives, and features.
- Premium annual — ₹999/year, launching Jan 2027. Same as monthly, discounted for annual commitment.
Readers who sign up before Jan 2027 will receive twelve months of premium access at no charge — this offer applies to accounts created before the paid launch date and is not transferable.
4.1 Billing & renewal
From Jan 2027, subscriptions will be billed by Razorpay. Monthly plans renew monthly; annual plans renew annually. You may cancel at any time via your account page; cancellation stops future billing but does not refund the current period.
4.2 Refunds
We offer full refunds within 7 days of a first-time subscription charge, no questions asked. Beyond 7 days, refunds are considered case-by-case for material service failures. Refund requests: [email protected].
5. Prohibited use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, mirror, or systematically republish editorial content without written permission.
- Circumvent paywalls, rate limits, or authentication mechanisms.
- Post or transmit unlawful, defamatory, or infringing material through any account feature we offer.
- Use the site to distribute malware, phishing links, or spam.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Train, fine-tune, or otherwise use our content to build machine-learning models without a written licence.
Robots.txt reflects our stance on automated access. See /robots.txt for the current allow/deny list.
6. Intellectual property
Editorial content on Startupniti — articles, headlines, decks, illustrations, and layout — is copyrighted by Startupniti Media. Quoted excerpts and citations belong to their original publishers. You may share individual article links and short excerpts (up to 100 words) for personal, non-commercial use with attribution. Systematic republishing, framing, or commercial reuse requires a written licence.
7. Third-party content
Articles cite and link to third-party publications. We do not control external sites; their availability, accuracy, and privacy practices are their own. Following an outbound link is at your own discretion.
8. Disclaimers
Editorial content is journalism, not financial, legal, tax, or investment advice. Readers who act on our reporting should verify facts independently and, where relevant, consult a qualified professional. Startupniti is not liable for decisions taken on the basis of published content.
The service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or freedom from errors. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Startupniti's aggregate liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the preceding 12 months.
9. Termination
You may close your account at any time via /contact. We may terminate an account that violates these Terms or is used unlawfully, with reasonable notice where feasible.
10. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer under Indian law.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms as our features and legal environment evolve. Material changes are notified to signed-in users by email; the "last updated" date at the top always reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance.
