Endeavor Catalyst raises $320M to back founders outside Silicon Valley

Endeavor Catalyst has closed its fifth fund with $320 million in capital commitments, increasing its total assets under management to over $850 million, the firm announced.

Endeavor Catalyst has closed its fifth fund with $320 million in capital commitments, increasing its total assets under management to over $850 million, the firm announced. The New York-based venture arm of Endeavor focuses on supporting founders outside major tech hubs, aiming to counterbalance the concentration of venture capital in Silicon Valley, particularly around AI startups.

The fund is managed by Allen Taylor, a 20-year veteran, and Jackie Carmel, who has been with Endeavor for 12 years, supported by a 16-person team. Endeavor itself is the official general partner, meaning half of the fund’s profits are reinvested to support future founders in the network. Endeavor Catalyst requires founders to join its network, which offers mentoring and connections; last year, it screened over 10,000 candidates and selected 88 entrepreneurs from more than 3,100 members across 50 countries.

This fundraise addresses concerns about the growing focus of venture capital on Silicon Valley and AI companies, which can overshadow promising startups in other regions. Endeavor Catalyst’s model, which reinvests profits into the network, helps sustain a pipeline of founders outside traditional tech hubs. The fund’s approach contrasts with the broader trend of concentrated investment in a few geographic and sector-specific areas, aiming to diversify the startup funding landscape.

Endeavor Catalyst’s network now includes more than 3,100 entrepreneurs in over 50 countries. The organization reported that founders must raise at least $5 million in a round led by another institutional investor to qualify for Catalyst’s investment, reinforcing its commitment to backing high-potential companies beyond Silicon Valley.
