Le Travenues Technology, parent company of online travel platform Ixigo, approved the acquisition of a 54.66% majority stake in hotel booking startup Brevistay Hospitality for Rs 65.69 crore on June 5, 2026. Alongside this, Ixigo also invested Rs 7.5 crore in AI startup Proactai and Rs 4.5 crore in Vestra.AI, marking a strategic expansion into AI technologies.
The acquisition of Brevistay involves a mix of primary and secondary share purchases, transferring control from the founders and making Brevistay a subsidiary of Ixigo, with an option to acquire the remaining stake later. Brevistay’s platform offers hotel room bookings for flexible durations, with turnover rising to Rs 18.1 crore in FY26 from Rs 12.23 crore in FY25. Ixigo’s Rs 7.5 crore investment in Proactai secured a 10.34% stake through compulsorily convertible preference shares, while the Rs 4.5 crore investment in Vestra.AI was made via fully convertible debentures without immediate equity.
These moves come as Ixigo diversifies into AI, with Proactai developing vertical foundational AI models for person re-identification and object tracking, despite its modest Rs 12.02 lakh turnover in FY26. Vestra.AI focuses on custom AI operating systems to coordinate autonomous AI agents and automate workflows. The Brevistay deal strengthens Ixigo’s position in flexible hotel bookings, a growing segment within the travel industry, while the AI investments align with broader tech trends in automation and personalization.
The Brevistay acquisition deal is expected to close by July 31, 2026, marking a significant step in Ixigo’s expansion strategy. The company’s investments in Proactai and Vestra.AI signal a commitment to integrating AI capabilities into its platform offerings, potentially enhancing user experience and operational efficiency.
