Kuku Technologies turns profitable with Rs 1,484 crore revenue in FY26

Kuku Technologies, the owner of microdrama app Kuku TV and audio storytelling platform Kuku FM, reported a net profit of Rs 182.7 crore for the financial year ended March 31, 2026.

Kuku Technologies, the owner of microdrama app Kuku TV and audio storytelling platform Kuku FM, reported a net profit of Rs 182.7 crore for the financial year ended March 31, 2026. This marks a significant turnaround from a loss of Rs 152.6 crore in FY25, driven by a sixfold increase in revenue to Rs 1,484.2 crore, according to its standalone financial statements filed with the Registrar of Companies.

The company’s revenue surge was primarily fueled by subscription fees, which contributed Rs 1,475.4 crore. Additional income came from pay-per-piece purchases amounting to Rs 6.9 crore and advertising revenue of Rs 1.9 crore. Kuku Technologies, backed by Google, had confidentially filed draft papers for an initial public offering (IPO) in June, targeting a size between Rs 2,500 crore and Rs 3,500 crore ($260-360 million). The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) issued an observation letter last month, allowing the company to proceed with its IPO plans.

Kuku’s rapid revenue growth and profitability position it among notable digital media startups preparing for public listing. The company aims for an IPO valuation of Rs 15,000 crore, reflecting a 10x multiple on its FY26 revenue. This valuation benchmark highlights investor confidence in the digital audio and microdrama content market, which has seen increased monetization through subscriptions and digital purchases.

Kuku Technologies’ next key milestone is the IPO launch, expected to be one of the largest in the digital media sector this year. The company’s financial disclosures and SEBI’s approval set the stage for a public listing that could raise up to Rs 3,500 crore, marking a major event for India’s digital entertainment industry.
