Resilient Asset Management, owned by Vijay Shekhar Sharma and acting on behalf of Alibaba Group affiliate Antfin, sold 1.92 crore shares in Paytm's parent company One97 Communications for approximately ₹2,948.9 crore. The block deal was executed at ₹1,535.10 per share, reflecting a slight discount of around 3% to the stock’s last closing price, according to NSE data.

The shares were purchased by institutional investors including Goldman Sachs, BNP Paribas, ICICI Prudential, HSBC Mutual Fund, SBI Mutual Fund, and Societe Generale. Prior to the sale, Resilient held a 10.03% stake in Paytm on a fully diluted basis as of June 2026. Following the transaction, its stake reduced to 7.2%. The sale was conducted under an existing optionally convertible debenture (OCD) agreement with Antfin (Netherlands) Holding B.V., with economic value retained by Antfin as per disclosures.

Ant Financial, now known as Ant Group, initially invested in Paytm in February 2015 with a $200 million capital infusion. The deal underscores Antfin’s continued economic interest in Paytm despite the reduction in direct shareholding by Resilient. The transaction highlights ongoing portfolio adjustments by major investors in the fintech sector, with prominent global and Indian financial institutions acquiring significant stakes.

Paytm had informed stock exchanges about Resilient’s intention to sell up to 4.98% shareholding through a block market trade. The shares sold in this deal represent a part of that proposed sale, executed recently. The next disclosure from Paytm or Resilient regarding shareholding changes is awaited as per regulatory filings.
