BAG Ventures, founded by former Google vice president Bonita Stewart and ex-CapitalG partner Jackson Georges Jr., has closed an $11.3 million fund to invest in early-stage AI startups targeting enterprise customers. The fund was finalized after about two years of gradual investing and aims to back companies offering AI products with proven business value, according to techcrunch.com.
The firm has already invested in 10 startups, including software company SXD, AI travel agent BizTrip, and agentic reasoning platform Nomadic. BAG Ventures focuses on areas such as AI infrastructure, compute, physical and edge AI, security, governance, and vertical SaaS. Investment check sizes range from $100,000 to $500,000, with plans to deploy the remaining capital over the next two years. Stewart and Georges bring extensive experience from Google and CapitalG, leveraging their networks and expertise to identify promising AI ventures.
The fund’s strategy reflects a shift in enterprise AI adoption, moving beyond experimentation to paying for solutions that deliver measurable results. Stewart’s background includes nearly a decade as a Google vice president and board membership at Gradient Ventures, Google’s early-stage AI fund. Georges’ experience spans GE Healthcare, Google, and CapitalG, Alphabet’s growth fund. Their combined insight positions BAG Ventures to support startups addressing critical enterprise AI needs, distinguishing it from broader AI investment trends.
BAG Ventures plans to continue investing in startups over the next two years, focusing on companies that can demonstrate clear enterprise value. The fund’s portfolio and future investments will be closely watched as enterprise AI adoption matures and demand for practical AI applications grows.
