The highest number of complaints were filed against Flipkart, with 1.3 lakh cases, followed by Amazon with 91,248 and Meesho with 29,284, according to inc42.com.
In a written reply before the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Consumer Affairs BL Verma detailed that 25,384 complaints targeted Myntra, 19,895 were against Reliance-owned Netmeds, while quick commerce platforms Zepto and Blinkit received 5,774 and 5,102 complaints respectively. The majority of grievances related to non-delivery and wrong product delivery, with 79,818 and 75,426 complaints respectively, along with issues of product replacement, refunds, defective products, and counterfeit sales.
The rise in complaints highlights ongoing challenges in the ecommerce sector, including product delays, customer service shortcomings, and order discrepancies. The Consumer Protection Act, 2019 mandates ecommerce companies to appoint grievance officers and respond to consumer issues, which the National Consumer Helpline has addressed by disposing of all complaints received in 2025. This data underscores the increasing scrutiny and regulatory oversight faced by major online marketplaces in India.
The government’s disclosure in Parliament confirms that the National Consumer Helpline has resolved all complaints filed in 2025, reflecting active enforcement of consumer rights under the existing legal framework, as reported by inc42.com.
