Avenue Supermarts, the parent company of DMart, reported a consolidated net profit of ₹742.98 crore for the quarter ended October 2026 (Q2FY27), marking an 8.5% increase from ₹685.01 crore in the same period last year. Total income rose nearly 18% to ₹19,657.50 crore, up from ₹16,695.87 crore a year earlier, according to livemint.com.
The company's consolidated earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 14.7% year-on-year to ₹1,393 crore in Q2FY27, compared with ₹1,214 crore in the previous year. However, the EBITDA margin contracted to 7.1% from 7.3%, and the profit after tax (PAT) margin declined to 3.8% from 4.1%, reflecting faster expense growth than revenue. Vikram Dasu, Whole Time Director and CEO of Avenue E-Commerce, said the company is focused on operational efficiencies and enhancing customer experience in its existing cities.
On a standalone basis, DMart posted a net profit of ₹804 crore for Q2FY27, up 7.6% from ₹747 crore in the year-ago quarter. Total revenue increased 18.4% to ₹19,206 crore from ₹16,219 crore. Standalone EBITDA rose 14.1% to ₹1,403 crore from ₹1,230 crore. The results highlight Avenue Supermarts' continued growth amid margin pressures, consistent with trends in the retail sector where rising costs have impacted profitability despite strong revenue gains.
The company’s next financial update will be closely watched for margin recovery and growth sustainability, with the Q2FY27 results setting a benchmark for performance in a competitive retail environment.
