Balaji Telefilms revealed in May that artificial intelligence, automation, and intellectual property form the three pillars of its strategy, but it did not disclose any revenue projections for its AI business. The company provided detailed forecasts for seven other business lines, including an astrology app expected to earn between Rs 6.5 crore and Rs 7 crore, but left AI revenue unspecified, according to medianama.com.

During the Q4 and FY26 earnings call on May 27, Group CEO and CFO Sanjay Dwivedi explained that Balaji has established an in-house AI team working on various content formats. The company uses AI tools to create short-format reels and shows, some of which have won awards. Balaji is producing multiple projects simultaneously, including web series for Netflix, a show for Amazon, Hindi micro-dramas for a new partner, and content for Meta, with the latter expected to grow from about Rs 6.5 crore to Rs 115 crore in revenue this year.

Balaji’s AI initiatives include an AI music library, AI-created content live on its app, and bringing visual effects production in-house. Despite these developments, the company has not disclosed how AI contributes to its revenue or whether its commissioning platforms are informed about the use of AI. The lack of specific financial data on AI contrasts with the detailed forecasts provided for other business verticals, highlighting the nascent or experimental stage of AI integration within Balaji’s operations.

The company’s detailed revenue projections for non-AI segments, such as the astrology app, were shared in filed transcripts from the May earnings call. The next quarterly earnings report, expected in November, may provide further clarity on the financial impact of Balaji’s AI initiatives.
