The Delhi government, led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, has approved the establishment of the Go-Delhi Foundation with a ₹50 crore corpus to support young innovators and startups, the chief minister’s office announced on October 18. The foundation aims to help turn ideas into products and bring them to market in the national capital, which hosts around 21,000 startups recognised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), according to livemint.com.

The approval came during a recent Cabinet meeting chaired by Gupta, with the foundation designed to consolidate resources on a common platform to support new businesses, attract investment, and generate jobs. The Delhi CMO stated that startups and MSMEs across the capital will gain access to laboratories, testing facilities, prototyping, and product engineering services. The foundation will also provide technical advice, mentoring, incubation, business assistance, and connections with investors to help develop concepts into market-ready products, as reported by livemint.com.

This initiative is significant given Delhi's position as a major startup hub in India, with approximately 21,000 DPIIT-recognised startups. By offering a comprehensive support system including certification preparation and market access, the Go-Delhi Foundation aims to reduce the need for entrepreneurs to seek multiple service providers. This approach could enhance the ease of doing business and accelerate the growth of startups and MSMEs in the region, according to livemint.com.

The Go-Delhi Foundation’s ₹50 crore corpus marks a substantial investment in the city’s innovation ecosystem. The government’s move to integrate various support services under one umbrella is expected to streamline startup development and boost job creation in Delhi’s burgeoning entrepreneurial landscape, livemint.com reported.
