Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL)-owned beauty and personal care brand Minimalist reported a net profit of ₹25.9 crore in fiscal year FY26, reversing a loss of ₹270.5 crore the previous year, according to inc42.com. The company’s operating revenue rose 36.3% to ₹690.2 crore from ₹506.5 crore in FY25, supported by a 37% increase in total income including other income of ₹7.2 crore.

Minimalist’s turnaround followed an exceptional charge of ₹283.8 crore in FY25, which had heavily impacted its bottom line. Excluding this charge, the brand had made a profit of ₹11.9 crore last fiscal. HUL highlighted Minimalist’s rapid scaling across formats and channels, driven by its science-first approach, expansion of hero serums and moisturizers, and a strong digital-first execution that boosted both penetration and regimen expansion.

Minimalist, founded in 2020 by Mohit Yadav and Rahul Yadav, focuses on masstige products—offering luxury-feel skincare, haircare, and bodycare at affordable prices. Prior to HUL’s acquisition, the D2C brand raised nearly $15 million from investors including Unilever Ventures and Twenty Nine Capital Partners. HUL acquired a 90.5% stake in Minimalist’s parent company, Uprising Science Private Ltd, in April 2025 for ₹2,706.44 crore in an all-cash deal.

The brand’s growth in FY26 reflects HUL’s strategy to expand Minimalist offline and leverage synergies across media and distribution channels, positioning it as a key player in the premium skincare segment in India, inc42.com reported.
