New-age tech stocks see mixed performance with Klassroom surging 25%

Investor sentiment towards new-age tech stocks remained subdued this week despite an expanding IPO pipeline, according to inc42.com.

Investor sentiment towards new-age tech stocks remained subdued this week despite an expanding IPO pipeline, according to inc42.com. Shiprocket, LEAP India, and Klassroom recently debuted on the stock market, while ESDS Software Solutions’ IPO was fully subscribed on its opening day. Purple Style Labs raised nearly ₹306 crore from anchor investors ahead of its public issue opening on August 31. The 62 new-age tech companies tracked commanded a combined market capitalization of $166.91 billion, largely unchanged from the previous week.

The week saw mixed stock performances, with 36 new-age tech stocks declining between 0.13% and over 9%, while 26 stocks gained between 0.02% and over 25%, inc42.com reported. Klassroom, listed on BSE SME, was the biggest gainer with shares surging 25.2% to ₹218. Five stocks—Ather Energy, Turtlemint, Zelio E-Mobility, Paytm, and Lenskart—hit fresh 52-week highs. Conversely, IndiaMART InterMESH dropped to a 52-week low of ₹1,723.80 on August 24. Other decliners included Swiggy, PhysicsWallah, Honasa Consumer, EaseMyTrip, Groww, and BlueStone.

The mixed market performance reflects ongoing adjustments by institutional investors and venture capitalists, who pared or exited holdings in several listed new-age tech companies, inc42.com noted. This activity comes amid a growing IPO pipeline and fluctuating investor confidence in the sector. The overall market capitalization remained stable despite the volatility, highlighting the sector's resilience amid changing investor dynamics and market conditions.

Purple Style Labs’ anchor investor funding of nearly ₹306 crore ahead of its August 31 public issue highlights continued investor interest in new-age tech firms. The full subscription of ESDS Software Solutions’ IPO on its opening day further underscores active participation in the sector’s capital markets activities, as reported by inc42.com.
