API Holdings, the parent company of healthtech startup PharmEasy, reduced its consolidated net loss by 67% to Rs 520 crore in the fiscal year ended March 2026, down from Rs 1,572 crore in FY25, according to its annual report. The company’s revenue from operations increased 13% to Rs 6,619 crore in FY26, driven by a strategic shift towards higher-margin segments such as diagnostics, hospital management systems, pathology laboratories, and generic pharmaceuticals.
The company attributed the improved financial performance to entering the quick commerce segment, which attracted high-margin customers, and better utilization of existing warehouses, sales infrastructure, and marketing spend. API Holdings operates through two main income streams: products and services. In FY26, it earned Rs 5,670 crore from pharmaceutical, over-the-counter, surgical, consumable, and private label products, while diagnostics, teleconsulting, licensing, fulfilment, and technology services contributed Rs 941 crore.
API Holdings’ business model includes pharmacy distribution and diagnostics segments. Its subsidiary Ascent Health and Wellness Solutions supplies pharmaceutical products directly to chemists and institutions via an order management system platform. Another subsidiary, AknaMed, caters to similar markets. The company’s pivot to higher-margin businesses aligns with broader industry trends where healthtech firms diversify revenue sources to improve profitability amid competitive pressures.
API Holdings’ annual report for FY26 highlights the company’s strategic focus on scaling diagnostics and hospital management systems alongside its core pharmaceutical distribution. The company’s revenue growth and loss reduction mark a significant financial turnaround compared to the previous fiscal year, reflecting operational efficiencies and market expansion.
