Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced a revision of pay scales for around 1,800 executive officers in grades E-1 to E-7 at Singareni Collieries. The revision, effective from September 25, 2026, will bring these officers’ salaries on par with Coal India. The updated pay will be reflected in the October salary payments, marking a significant adjustment for the state-run mining company, according to livemint.com.
The announcement came on the occasion of the Dasara festival, with Deputy CM Vikramarka sharing the update on X, highlighting it as a long-pending commitment fulfilled by the government. This pay revision follows a recent ₹596 crore bonus distributed among 39,000 Singareni workers and ₹5,500 festive support for contract employees. The Deputy CM emphasized this move as a reaffirmation of the government’s dedication to the Singareni workforce and Telangana’s energy sector.
This pay scale revision aligns Singareni Collieries’ executive officers with Coal India, one of India’s largest coal producers, which sets a benchmark for compensation in the mining sector. The adjustment is expected to improve employee morale and retention at Singareni, which plays a crucial role in Telangana’s energy supply. Comparable moves in the coal sector often influence labor relations and operational efficiency, making this a notable development in regional mining labor policies.
The revised pay scales will be implemented starting with October 2026 salaries, following the official order issued by the Telangana government. This follows the recent ₹596 crore bonus payout and festive support, collectively enhancing the financial benefits for Singareni employees and contract workers.
