Airbound, a Bengaluru-based autonomous logistics and delivery drone startup, raised $37 million in a Series A funding round led by US-based investment firm Greenoaks, the company announced this week. The round included participation from DoorDash, Physical Intelligence founder Lachy Groom, Lightspeed, and Humba Ventures. This latest funding brings Airbound’s total capital raised since its 2023 launch to nearly $50 million, according to inc42.com.
Founded by Naman Pushp, Airbound designs and manufactures autonomous drones using a blended-wing-body tail-sitter configuration that enables vertical takeoff and landing with efficient horizontal flight. Its flagship TRT drone weighs about 2.5 kg, carries a payload of around 1 kg, and has a range of approximately 40 km. The startup also operates a proprietary flight control system called RUDRA, which allows a single operator to manage over 100 drones simultaneously. The fresh capital will accelerate engineering, commercial-scale manufacturing, and go-to-market efforts, inc42.com reported.
The funding round comes amid rising investor interest in deeptech and IP-driven startups in India, where deeptech companies raised $2.2 billion across 187 deals in 2026, up from $1.6 billion across 487 deals in 2025, according to livemint.com. Airbound’s focus on autonomous drone logistics positions it in a growing sector that includes companies developing advanced drone manufacturing and delivery technologies. The participation of DoorDash highlights strategic interest from food delivery and logistics players in drone-based solutions.
Airbound was manufacturing about one drone per day as of October 2025, inc42.com reported. The company plans to use the new funds to scale production and expand commercial operations, aiming to increase drone deployment for logistics and delivery services.
