Blink Digital India has filed a lawsuit against Meta and its India entity, Facebook India Online Services Private Limited, seeking ₹1,000 crore in compensation for the disabling of four ‘Meta Business Manager’ accounts. The complaint was submitted to the Bombay High Court on September 17, with the ad agency demanding restoration of its accounts and damages for the disruption caused, according to inc42.com.

The legal proceedings began with Meta’s advocate, Janak Dwarakadas, being granted two weeks to submit an affidavit opposing Blink Digital’s interim application. Following this, the court allowed a week for Blink Digital to file a rejoinder to Meta’s affidavit. The next hearing is scheduled for October 12. Blink Digital, founded in 2009 and led by Dooj Ramchandani, manages digital campaigns for clients such as KFC, ITC, Star Sports, and Puma.

Meta Business Manager is a free backend dashboard that enables businesses and agencies to manage Facebook Pages, Instagram accounts, ad accounts, pixels, and team permissions securely in one place. For agencies like Blink Digital, this platform acts as a critical operational tool to manage digital marketing efforts. The lawsuit highlights growing tensions between digital agencies and platform providers over account management and access.

The Bombay High Court will hear the case on October 12, when Meta is expected to present its affidavit reply and Blink Digital will submit its rejoinder, setting the stage for further legal arguments on the dispute over account disabling and compensation claims.
