Indian-origin inventor Rahul Agarwal secured a $350,000 (approximately ₹3.33 crore) deal on Shark Tank USA for his innovative foldable measuring spoon. The product, designed by Agarwal’s company Polygons Design, folds flat when not in use and features a magnetic back that allows it to stick to refrigerators, combining functionality with convenience.
Agarwal, who holds a bachelor’s degree in design from the National Institute of Design and has a background in industrial, product, and UX design, created the spoon inspired by origami. He founded Polygons Designs in October 2016 after working in various design roles, including at Ahmedabad-based Inventindia Innovations and as a faculty member at IIT Gandhinagar. The foldable spoon has won over 20 international design awards for its unique approach to a common kitchen tool.
The deal highlights growing interest in innovative kitchenware that blends practicality with design. Agarwal’s foldable spoon stands out in a market crowded with traditional measuring spoons by offering enhanced storage and usability features. This investment on Shark Tank USA places Agarwal among other inventors who have successfully brought design-forward products to mainstream attention, emphasizing the value of design innovation in everyday items.
Polygons Design’s foldable measuring spoon is now poised for wider distribution and market penetration following the Shark Tank deal. The $350,000 investment will support scaling production and expanding reach in the US market, marking a key milestone for Agarwal’s company and its unique kitchenware innovation.
