Lenskart’s Q1 profit jumps 182% on 34% revenue growth

Lenskart reported a 182% jump in net profit to ₹228 crore in the first quarter of financial year 2026-27, alongside a 34% year-on-year rise in revenue, according to inc42.com. The listed eyewear company’s EBITDA grew 61%, and consolidated product margin exceeded 70% for the first time in the June quarter.

The company’s growth was driven primarily by India, where revenue increased 30.7% with same-store sales growth of 18.3%, while international revenue rose 38%. Lenskart’s strategy has shifted from expanding store count to maximising returns on investments in stores, manufacturing, technology, and acquisitions built over recent years. The margin improvement reflects better utilisation of this infrastructure.

Lenskart estimates that 78 crore Indians currently require vision correction, a figure expected to rise to 94 crore by FY30. While the company initially focused on affordable mass-market eyewear, management now recognises faster-than-expected premiumisation among its existing customers. This shift highlights the company’s aim to capture both ends of the eyewear market, balancing scale with profitability.

The company’s Q1 results mark a transition to prioritising profitability and customer satisfaction over rapid store expansion. Lenskart’s next earnings update will reveal if it can sustain this growth and margin improvement while managing capital efficiency across its operations.
