Bengaluru-based speciality chemicals startup NuSynth Technologies has raised ₹36.5 crore (about $4 million) in a seed funding round co-led by Avaana Capital and Shastra VC. Founded in 2026 by Poorvank Purohit, Ramesha A R, Abhishek Deo, and Dipak Bajaj, the startup plans to use the capital to enhance its R&D and technology capabilities, build scale-up capacity, and expand its team, according to inc42.com.

NuSynth combines chemical research and development with artificial intelligence to create alternative processes for producing complex chemicals, initially targeting pharmaceuticals and electronics chemicals. The company aims to tackle challenges such as complex multi-step synthesis, high material and energy costs, reliance on imported intermediates, and hazardous reagents. Avaana Capital noted that NuSynth’s processes reduce reaction steps, eliminate hazardous reagents, lower temperature requirements, and replace solvent-heavy methods with catalytic and water-based alternatives.

The startup operates on an asset-light manufacturing model, collaborating with Indian manufacturing partners to scale laboratory research to industrial production. Its R&D platform integrates predictive synthesis models with an AI-enabled engine that converts experimental data into optimized chemical processes. This approach addresses inefficiencies in conventional chemical synthesis and aligns with growing industry interest in sustainable and cost-effective manufacturing methods.

NuSynth’s seed round funding will support the development of a proprietary portfolio of chemical processes and the expansion of its team. The startup’s focus on AI-driven chemical synthesis positions it within a niche market addressing pharmaceutical and electronics sectors, with backing from Avaana Capital and Shastra VC marking a significant milestone in its growth trajectory.
