Healthtech startup Practo appointed Jagnoor Singh as CEO effective September 1, replacing cofounder Shashank ND Singh, who moved to the expanded role of managing director and executive chairman. Singh, who joined Practo as COO in January 2025, will oversee the company’s strategy, growth, and operations across global markets, the startup said in a statement.
Singh’s promotion follows his work on Practo’s growth strategy, operational execution, and market expansion since joining. Before Practo, he held senior roles at Bharti Airtel, Unacademy, and OYO. Alongside Singh’s appointment, cofounder Siddhartha Nihalani took on the role of COO – B2C to manage consumer businesses, Rowel Coelho became COO – B2B to lead enterprise operations, and cofounder Abhinav Lal was named chief scientist to spearhead AI research and innovation initiatives.
The leadership reshuffle aligns with Practo’s broader strategic priorities, including its focus on AI applications in healthcare and preparations for an initial public offering. Lal’s role as chief scientist will involve building research partnerships and developing an innovation hub for emerging technologies. The changes reflect Practo’s efforts to strengthen its executive team amid growth and market expansion, following trends among healthtech startups aiming to scale operations and enhance technology capabilities.
Practo’s leadership update was announced in early September as the company advances its IPO preparations and global market presence. The company confirmed Singh’s appointment and the expanded roles of its senior executives in a statement dated September 1, 2026.
