Healthtech startup Redcliffe Labs is acquiring Pune-based diagnostics chain Megavision Diagnostics Centre in a deal worth about ₹40 crore ($4.14 million), the company confirmed. The acquisition aims to expand Redcliffe’s offerings beyond pathology into integrated diagnostics, including MRI, CT scans, ECG, EEG, and mammography. The transaction is expected to close later this month, marking a significant step in Redcliffe’s inorganic growth strategy.
Founded in 1996, Megavision operates two diagnostic centres in Pune’s Pimpri and Nigdi areas, providing MRI, CT scans, sonography, ECG, and mammography services. Redcliffe Labs founder Aditya Kandoi said the acquisition will allow the startup to add these services to its portfolio, leveraging Megavision’s infrastructure and market credibility built over three decades. The deal includes retaining Megavision’s entire workforce, ensuring continuity in operations.
Redcliffe Labs has primarily focused on pathology and home diagnostics, but radiology is a capital-intensive segment requiring substantial infrastructure investment. By acquiring Megavision, which generates annual revenue of about ₹20 crore, Redcliffe aims to quickly build its imaging capabilities. This move aligns with broader trends in the diagnostics sector, where companies are expanding service offerings to provide integrated diagnostic solutions.
The acquisition deal is valued at ₹40 crore and is scheduled to close later this month, according to inc42.com. This marks Redcliffe Labs’ latest expansion effort to strengthen its position in the diagnostics market by combining pathology with radiology and imaging services.
