The Pant Project, a menswear brand, raised ₹109 crore (about $11.5 million) in a Series B funding round led by Mirae Asset Venture Investments (India) to expand its offline presence and broaden its apparel portfolio, according to inc42.com. Existing investor Sorin Investments, family offices, and angel investors including Anisha Saraf, B&K Securities, MGA Ventures, and B2V Ventures also participated. This round brings the startup’s total funding to over $15.75 million.
Founded in 2020 by brothers Dhruv Toshniwal and Udit Toshniwal, The Pant Project began as a digital-first brand specializing in bottomwear for Indian men. It previously raised $4.25 million in a Series A round led by Sorin Investments in 2024 after four years of bootstrapping. The startup also secured venture debt financing from Alteria Capital for an undisclosed amount. The fresh capital will be used to increase its exclusive brand store network from 25 to 150 over the next two to three years and to expand its menswear portfolio with a focus on jeans, athleisure, and casualwear.
The Pant Project’s funding round highlights growing investor interest in Indian menswear brands expanding offline. The startup currently offers over 300 SKUs, including custom-made bottomwear and ready-to-wear apparel for men and women. Its product range includes Malai Pants and Inklock No Fade Black Jeans. The move to broaden its portfolio beyond core bottomwear aligns with market trends where brands are diversifying to capture more of the apparel segment, competing with established players in the menswear space.
The Pant Project plans to deploy the new funds to scale its physical retail footprint significantly and diversify its product offerings. The company aims to grow its store count sixfold within three years, from 25 to 150 exclusive brand stores, marking a major expansion in its offline presence, inc42.com reported.
