Ema, a startup that automates corporate processes using teams of AI agents, raised $77 million in a Series B funding round led by Bengaluru-based venture firm Creaegis. The round, which included participation from existing investors Accel, Section 32, and Prosus, brings Ema’s total funding to $140 million and more than quadruples its valuation since 2024, the company confirmed to TechCrunch.
Founded in 2023 by former Google and Coinbase executive Surojit Chatterjee and ex-Okta executive Souvik Sen, Ema deploys what it calls “AI employees” — coordinated AI agents that execute multi-step business processes across HR, IT, and finance within a company’s existing applications. The Series B round consisted entirely of primary equity with no debt or secondary transactions, according to TechCrunch.
The funding reflects growing competition as AI technologies begin to capture spending traditionally allocated to enterprise software and IT services. Ema’s approach of integrating multiple AI agents to automate complex workflows positions it against established software products and IT service providers. The startup aims to reduce companies’ reliance on traditional software by automating entire processes rather than single tasks, a shift noted by founder Surojit Chatterjee.
Ema’s latest funding round was announced on September 23, 2026, marking a significant milestone as the startup prepares to scale its AI-driven automation solutions across enterprise sectors, according to TechCrunch.
