Agentic AI startup Ema secured $77 million in a Series B funding round led by Bengaluru-based VC firm Creaegis, the company announced. Existing investors Accel, S32, and Prosus also participated. Founded in 2023, Ema has raised about $140 million to date and plans to use the fresh capital to scale its go-to-market strategy and expand into Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East, and Africa.

Ema, headquartered in San Francisco with offices in Bengaluru, London, and Vancouver, builds 'universal AI employees'—agentic AI systems that plan and execute enterprise workflows. The startup was founded by former Coinbase CPO Surojit Chatterjee and former Okta executive Souvik Sen. The company currently employs nearly 200 people and focuses on automating HR, IT, and finance functions by connecting with over 250 business applications and systems of record.

The startup has quadrupled its valuation since its $50 million Series A round in 2025, although it did not disclose the latest valuation. Ema targets enterprises seeking to move beyond pilot projects to agentic business transformation, addressing a market need for outcome-driven AI solutions rather than additional software. Its platform primarily serves enterprise customers in the US and Europe, competing in the growing AI-driven SaaS sector focused on workflow automation.

Ema cofounder and CEO Surojit Chatterjee stated that the new funding will help drive agentic business transformation at enterprises still stuck in pilot purgatory. The company’s next steps include deploying the capital to accelerate market penetration and geographic expansion, particularly in APAC and EMEA regions.
