Zoho has introduced connected apps for Google Gemini, now available to organizations in its Indian data center, the company announced on August 25. This integration aims to enhance AI assistant capabilities by providing seamless access to business context across Zoho's suite of applications, improving tasks such as drafting customer follow-ups and managing support tickets.
The new connected apps feature addresses the challenge AI assistants face when they lack direct access to crucial business data stored in separate applications. Previously, users had to manually gather information from multiple sources like CRM, inbox, and help desk before feeding it into the AI assistant. Zoho’s integration streamlines this process by linking Google Gemini with Zoho apps, enabling AI to access pipeline details, customer conversations, and project timelines without switching platforms, according to zoho.com.
This development comes as AI assistants improve in writing, summarizing, and reasoning but still struggle with context-specific tasks due to data fragmentation. By embedding AI within business workflows, Zoho aligns with broader SaaS trends where contextual AI enhances productivity. The integration positions Zoho competitively amid other SaaS providers incorporating AI to automate customer engagement and support functions.
Zoho noted that while the connected apps for Google Gemini are currently available in the Indian data center, support for other Zoho data centers will be rolled out soon, expanding the integration’s reach across its global user base.
