D2C fashion and accessories startup Theater has raised ₹75 crore (around $7.8 million) in a Series A funding round led by investment firm Niveshaay, the company announced. The round included participation from new investor Physis Capital and existing investors such as Prath Ventures. The funding values Theater at a post-money valuation of ₹410 crore (about $43 million).

Founded in 2021 by Sarthak Aggarwal, Vikram Jain, Karan Jain, and Shruti Aggarwal, Theater offers cruelty-free footwear, stockings, perfumes, and bags. The startup plans to use the fresh capital to expand its offline retail presence across Tier I and II cities and invest in brand-building efforts, including celebrity partnerships and marketing campaigns. Theater aims to combine its digital-first model with physical retail to build a nationally recognized mass-premium fashion brand, according to inc42.com.

Theater competes with brands like FableStreet, Miraggio, and Huemn in the Indian apparel sector, which is projected to reach $117.05 billion by 2034. The startup has grown eightfold over the past two years while maintaining a focus on profitability, though it has not disclosed specific revenue or profit figures. Prior to this round, Theater raised $1.5 million in a pre-Series A round led by Prath Ventures in September 2024.

The company’s next steps include expanding its offline retail footprint and enhancing marketing initiatives to strengthen brand recognition. The ₹75 crore Series A round marks a significant milestone in Theater’s growth trajectory, positioning it for wider market penetration in India’s evolving fashion landscape.
