Watertech startup DigitalPaani has raised ₹22 crore (about $2.3 million) in a funding round led by Navam Capital, the company announced. Other investors included Enzia Ventures, Chakra Growth Capital, 3one4 Capital, Momentum Capital, Achieving Women Entrepreneurs Early Growth Fund, and Echo River Capital. Founded in 2020 by Mansi Jain and Rajesh Jain, DigitalPaani plans to use the capital to expand its AI- and IoT-powered water management platform across industrial and municipal markets and scale operations internationally, according to inc42.com.

DigitalPaani’s platform collects real-time data from water and wastewater infrastructure assets, comparing performance against designed parameters to identify operational inefficiencies. It automates equipment management, maintenance, inventory tracking, and service team coordination. The technology is deployed in sewage treatment plants and other water facilities to enhance wastewater recycling, reduce losses, and prevent breakdowns. The startup also offers real-time water tracking, predictive maintenance, and workflow management, helping institutional customers optimize water use and infrastructure performance, inc42.com reported.

The water management sector is attracting growing investment as utilities and industries seek to improve sustainability and efficiency. DigitalPaani’s funding round follows increased interest in AI and IoT applications for resource management. Comparable startups have raised capital to scale solutions addressing water scarcity and infrastructure challenges. DigitalPaani’s platform addresses critical needs in wastewater treatment and industrial water use, positioning it among emerging companies leveraging technology to improve environmental outcomes and operational resilience, according to inc42.com.

DigitalPaani will deploy the fresh capital to strengthen core operations and expand into new markets, including international territories. The startup’s founders, Mansi Jain and Rajesh Jain, lead the Delhi NCR-based company, which has been operational since 2020. The funding round’s stage and valuation were not disclosed. DigitalPaani’s next milestone will be scaling its platform to serve more institutional customers across industrial and municipal sectors, inc42.com stated.
