Utsav, a Kolkata-based spiritual tech startup, raised ₹36 crore ($3.8 million) in a Series A funding round led by Atomic Capital. Existing investors India Quotient and Equanimity Investments also participated by doubling their prior investments. The fresh capital will be used to expand Utsav’s temple network and accelerate product development, the company announced this week, aiming to deepen its digital connection between devotees, temples, and rituals across India, according to inc42.com.
Founded in 2021 by Sourajit Basu, Ankita De, and Prajata Samanta, Utsav operates a community-led marketplace offering authenticated rituals and devotional services through partnerships with temple priests and spiritual scholars. The platform currently fulfills 2.5 lakh orders per month. Basu, the CEO, said the funding will help serve devotees at scale with trust and authenticity at the core. Prior to this round, Utsav raised ₹6.4 crore in January 2025 to onboard more temples and integrate AI features into its technology stack, inc42.com reported.
The funding round positions Utsav to capitalize on the growing digital devotional market in India, which blends faith with technology.
