C2i Semiconductors has raised an additional $1.7 million from TDK Ventures, extending its Series A round to a total of $16.7 million, the company announced today. This fresh capital follows the initial $15 million raised in February, led by Peak XV Partners with participation from TDK Ventures and Yali Capital, according to inc42.com.
The extension came as part of ongoing investor confidence in C2i’s mission to develop advanced power management solutions for AI infrastructure. Founded in 2024 by Vikram Gakhar, Preetam Charan Anand Tadeparthy, and Ramprasad Ananthaswamy, the startup focuses on high-density, ultra-reliable system-level power delivery for AI data centers and cloud computing. Alongside the funding update, C2i announced the tape-out of its smart power stage chip, designed entirely in India, marking a significant milestone in its product development cycle.
This funding round and product progress underscore the growing demand for specialized semiconductor solutions tailored to AI workloads. As AI computing scales rapidly, power efficiency and reliability in data centers have become critical, making C2i’s technology strategically important. The total $16.7 million Series A round positions the startup to compete in a market that includes global semiconductor firms advancing AI hardware capabilities.
Looking ahead, C2i plans to use the funds to accelerate development and commercialization of its power delivery solutions. The tape-out signals the chip is ready for manufacturing, which will be a key step toward deployment in AI infrastructure. Industry watchers will be monitoring C2i’s next moves as it aims to establish itself in the competitive semiconductor landscape for AI applications.
