Consumer appliance startup EDT raises $2.4 million in pre-Series A round

Mumbai-based consumer appliance startup EDT has raised $2.4 million (over ₹23 crore) in its pre-Series A funding round, led by existing investor Sauce.vc, the company confirmed.

Mumbai-based consumer appliance startup EDT has raised $2.4 million (over ₹23 crore) in its pre-Series A funding round, led by existing investor Sauce.vc, the company confirmed. The round also saw participation from new investors including venture debt firm Alteria Capital, Nicobar cofounder Raul Rai, Atomberg founders Shibam Das and Arindam Paul, Delhivery COO Ajith Pai, and Samsonite SA CBO Anushree Tainwala, according to inc42.com.

Founded in 2025 by ex-MyGlamm cofounder Naiyya Saggi and industrial design studio Analogy founder Vyasateja Rao, EDT manufactures consumer appliances such as air fryers, electric kettles, and dryers. The startup plans to use the fresh capital to build inventory ahead of the festive season, launch new products across home, kitchen, and personal care categories, and expand its presence across direct-to-consumer channels, marketplaces, and offline retail. The company also aims to strengthen its research and development capabilities, inc42.com reported.

EDT’s latest funding round follows a $1.4 million raise in December 2025, with Sauce.vc as a recurring investor. The consumer appliances segment in India has seen growing investor interest, with startups focusing on kitchen and home products gaining traction. EDT’s strategy to diversify its product portfolio and expand distribution aligns with broader market trends where consumer tech firms are targeting festive season demand spikes and increasing offline retail penetration, according to inc42.com.

The startup’s pre-Series A round was officially announced this week, marking a key milestone in EDT’s growth trajectory. The company’s expanded investor base now includes prominent founders and executives from related sectors, positioning it to scale operations and product innovation ahead of the upcoming festive period, inc42.com noted.
