Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler startup Simple Energy launched its Wave family of escooters at an introductory price of ₹1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). The lineup includes six models across three variants: Simple Wave S, Simple Wave, and Simple Wave+. Bookings opened recently, with deliveries set to begin in the last week of September, according to inc42.com.
The top-end Simple Wave+ features a 5 kWh battery pack, an IDC-certified range of 243 km, and a top speed of 90 kmph. It is powered by a 6.4 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor generating 179 Nm of wheel torque. Other models offer battery capacities of 3.7 kWh, 2.7 kWh, and 2.2 kWh, with ranges between 110 km and 171 km. The scooters support both standard and fast charging, with the Wave+ charging from 0 to 80% in a minimum of 2 hours and 15 minutes. Portable chargers are included.
Founded in 2019 by Rajkumar and Shreshth Mishra, with cofounder Ankit Gupta joining later, Simple Energy competes with Ola Electric, Ather Energy, TVS Motor, Bajaj Auto, and Hero MotorCorp in the electric two-wheeler market. The startup currently manufactures 3,000 scooters monthly and sells around 1,500 units each month. The Wave family aims to expand its presence in this competitive segment.
Bookings for the Simple Wave family are available through Simple Energy’s stores and website, with deliveries scheduled to start in the last week of September. The company’s current monthly manufacturing capacity stands at 3,000 scooters, aiming to increase supply as demand grows.
