WATER Robotics, an AI startup based in Hyderabad, has raised $2.5 million (about ₹24 crore) in a funding round led by Endiya Partners. The round also included investments from India’s national badminton coach Pullela Gopichand, Darwinbox cofounder Rohit Chennamaneni, and Swiggy cofounder Nandan Reddy. The fresh capital will primarily support research and development efforts and data collection for the company’s flagship product, CAMA, a robotic bed designed to adapt to a person’s body in real time, the startup confirmed to inc42.com.
Founded in 2024 by Teja Vinukollu and Haneesh Mourya Desu, WATER Robotics focuses on biophysical intelligence and adaptive intelligent surfaces engineered as a closed loop system. CAMA, the company’s main product, integrates 10,752 pressure sensors and 42 actuators that continuously sense and adjust the bed’s surface to the user’s body. The bed operates on a foundational model called VORTEX, which enables it to sense, understand, and respond gently to human body movements in real time, according to inc42.com.
The startup’s broader vision is to develop a “Physical OS” for furniture and other surfaces that can interact with humans through sensing and response capabilities.
